On my walk this morning, although it is July, there was a gentle breeze. I left my hair down thinking I wouldn’t get too hot. The sun made me realize, rather quickly, I was wrong.
Several thoughts came across my mind: turn back and get a hair tie; nah, I can handle this; whew, maybe not; do I have a hair tie in my shorts pocket; do I have a string in the waist of my shorts I can take out and use; well, I tried, just keep going; those stalks of weeds are pretty tall…would that work?
Yes, it did work!
I started to be proud of my resourcefulness and the fact I didn’t give up. And then I realized God instilled in my spirit the gift of Administration. Details, ideas, planning, and trying the next thing when the first doesn’t work is a resource he expects me to use. Even in the smallest ways.
Thank you, Lord, for your gentle nudges to use my gifts and not succumb to quitting after the first try. There is always another way.
