My life has included times I was not fully available to my spouse, children, friends or employer. I was detached emotionally, and in some ways, physically. If it encompassed a few days, that’s understandable. But if it’s weeks, months, or years, it is time to find the root of the problem.
The last time I felt unplugged, I knew I wasn’t serving my God-given purpose, but unwilling to change. In my career, I traveled weekly, managed accounts that expected instant answers, and spent evenings and weekends replying to communications or preparing for the next week. When I did plug into family events, something was left undone at work until I returned. It never ended.
Don’t get me wrong, I liked my job and was good at it. It gave us everything we wanted financially, and I felt accomplished. But I was not available in areas I was needed.
When we ignore where God directs us to go, eventually, it catches up. There can be an uneasy pit in our stomach. Our body can react with health issues. At it’s worse, relationships can end, finances are a mess, or addictions arise.
When I gave in to God’s plan, quit my job, moved to another state, and began Life Coaching, the incredible peace I felt was amazing! The calm that became the norm was my understanding I was following Him and made the correct choice. I plugged into my calling, my spouse, my family, and using my gifts as intended.
Are you experiencing an unrest? A pit in your stomach? Feeling out of control?
It’s time to surrender. It’s time to plug in.
