At the beginning of each year, after reflecting on the previous year and setting a plan of action for the current year, the challenge begins. Doing the plan!
A step in my plan is to be active each day for my health. I have a goal on my fitbit tracker to do 8000 steps a day. I know myself well enough that if I don’t have a partner-in-crime, I will probably not do that!
I saw that fitbit offers challenges on their programs. One is who can get the most steps each day. It tracks each person for 24 hours, as we go, so we know where we are in the challenge. I’ve noticed that is very helpful, because I’ll keep trying to get ahead of everyone else throughout the day. Game-on!
We all need that accountability, whether we are making physical changes, or any life change. We aren’t meant to do life alone.
When I gather groups for a class, I ask them to continue meeting after our time has ended. They are already committed to a time in their schedule and have shared about themselves in an intimate setting. Now they can continue to support and encourage each other with changes they are trying to make. There is comfort in numbers.
Consider joining me for the next Trampoline into 2019 class that begins in February. And ask your friends, who will continue as accountability partners, to come along. You will be empowered to accept any challenge!
